Rock Pigeons, Red eyed dove, laughing dove and cape Turtle doves. No, bag limits apply.
No season. Pigeons and doves are declaring vermin and we assist farmers to save their crops. Rock pigeons are hunted in grain and sunflower fields within 30 minutes drive from Kotoko hunting lodge.
The season for best shoots starts end February and continues up to end of September depending on the rainfall during the plant season.
Rock pigeons are hunted twice per day offering an incredibly challenging hunt, the sheer number of birds allowed hunters to shoot high volumes of birds per day. Rock pigeons are the most challenging game bird because of their ability to “duck and dive” at speeds of 60-80 km/h. They fly incredibly fast, very unpredictable and will take your skills to the limit.
Species to expect will be guinea fowl, Swanson Francolin, Orange River Francolin, and common quill.
The game bird season is from 1 of June until the end of August. These hunts are conducted in rough terrain and walk-up shoots will be done over-trained dogs.
We use well-trained German short hair pointers.
A variety of ducks, Spur wing goose, can be shot in the areas. A bag limit will apply.
Kotoko Hunting Wingshooting offers wingshooting hunting packages structured according to your specific needs.
